Blood tests yield suspect in case of pinched Rome Township pornos
JEFFERSON ? Blood samples may have provided Ashtabula County sheriff?s deputies a suspect in a 17-month-old theft of adult movies from a Rome Township home, according to a report.
In November 2011, a Crosby Cook Road resident reported the theft of between 20 and 30 adult films from his home, deputies said. The thief apparently entered the house by removing glass from a window, according to a report. Upon closer inspection, a deputy noticed drops of blood around the glass and collected samples that were sent to Ohio?s Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation DNA analysis.
Recently, BCI contacted the sheriff?s office to report a possible match between the DNA in the blood and that of a 21-year-old Rome resident, according to a report. Deputies plan to obtain a second DNA sample for verification.
The suspect faces charges on an unrelated matter, deputies have said.
